Job Description
About the Team and Organization: Join our dynamic PeopleComms Tech PMO team, a specialized group within the broader Business Group dedicated to driving innovative HR technology initiatives. Our team is responsible for overseeing and executing high-impact projects that enhance employee experiences through cutting-edge technology. As part of a collaborative environment focused on HR IT projects, this role fits centrally within the PMO, where you'll work alongside cross-functional experts in HR, IT, and business operations. The team is poised for growth, with current hiring addressing immediate project demands and a forecast for additional contractor needs over the next 12 months to support expanding initiatives. This position is newly created to handle an influx of exciting new projects, ensuring we stay at the forefront of HR innovation. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead transformative HR IT projects, with a strong emphasis on AI, chatbot implementations, digital transformation, and integrations with leading HRIS platforms. In this hybrid role, you will guide cross-functional teams to deliver programs that align with our organization's HR vision and strategy, fostering skills-based workforce planning and data-driven decision-making. Performance in this role will be evaluated based on project feedback from sponsors and stakeholders, as well as your effectiveness in managing issues, escalations, scope, timelines, and budgets. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a tangible impact on workforce transformation, this is your opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking work in the HR AI field. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership and Execution: Lead end-to-end project management for HR IT initiatives, including the implementation of chatbots, AI-driven tools (such as TechWolf, Eightfold, Gloat, or similar platforms), and digital transformation programs. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget using a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies. Integration Management: Oversee integrations with major HRIS systems like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or ServiceNow, collaborating with technical teams to ensure seamless connectivity and functionality. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive transformation programs involving HR, IT, data teams, and business stakeholders. Facilitate requirements gathering, scope definition, and stakeholder alignment to achieve project goals. Data and Governance Focus: Partner with data teams on skills taxonomy development, data mapping, and governance frameworks to support AI and analytics-driven HR solutions. Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify risks, manage escalations, and implement mitigation strategies. Handle budget oversight and resource allocation to optimize project outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for sponsors, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication, change leadership, and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle. Day-to-Day Operations: Manage daily project activities within the PeopleComms Tech PMO, including progress tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts to align with organizational HR strategies. Candidate Requirements: Must-Have Skills and Experience: Proven experience in implementing chatbot, digital transformation, and AI projects (e.g., with platforms like TechWolf, Eightfold, Gloat, or equivalents). Hands-on experience managing integrations with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or ServiceNow. Track record of delivering cross-functional transformation programs that involve HR, IT, and business stakeholders. Expertise in working with data teams on skills taxonomy, data mapping, and governance initiatives. Strong foundation in project management principles, with the ability to lead complex initiatives from inception to completion. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management roles. Nice-to-Have Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities to effectively navigate cross-functional teams and build strong vendor relationships. A strategic mindset capable of translating data insights and business needs into actionable workforce planning strategies. Experience in change leadership and stakeholder engagement, particularly in the context of workforce transformation and organizational change. Proficiency in delivering projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies, coupled with robust skills in risk assessment, mitigation, and budget management. Education and Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Human Resources, or equivalent). PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly desired; lack of project management certifications may be considered a red flag during evaluation. Candidate Disqualifiers: Profiles without direct experience in relevant HR IT projects, such as AI implementations or HRIS integrations, will not be considered. Candidates who have primarily served in roles like change lead, test lead, or similar non-project management positions are not a fit, as this role requires core project management expertise. Immediate red flags include no project management certifications or insufficient stakeholder management skills, as these are critical for success. Challenges and Success Factors: This role involves navigating complex stakeholder dynamics, where you'll need to excel in managing requirements, scope creep, and tight timelines amidst evolving project demands. Candidates should be prepared to handle high-stakes escalations and foster alignment across diverse teams in a hybrid work environment. Success hinges on strong stakeholder management capabilities—those who can diplomatically balance competing priorities, drive consensus, and adapt to changes will thrive. While the projects are rewarding, they require resilience in a fast-evolving HR tech landscape, where innovation meets practical implementation challenges. What Makes This Role Compelling: This position offers the chance to work on exciting projects at the intersection of HR and AI, contributing to initiatives that shape the future of workforce management. Compared to competitive market roles, we stand out with great project variety, competitive compensation, and a flexible hybrid setup that supports work-life balance. You'll gain invaluable experience leading projects aligned with cutting-edge HR strategies, enhancing your expertise in AI-driven transformations and cross-functional leadership. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to add significant value to your career by pioneering solutions that impact real people and organizational success. Additional Notes: There are no upcoming PTOs or disruptions anticipated that would delay the hiring process. We encourage qualified candidates to apply immediately to join our forward-thinking team and contribute to meaningful HR innovations.
