Mechanical Designer

We’re hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for a well-established Canadian manufacturer in Mississauga that engineers and builds custom industrial equipment for heavy manufacturing environments. This is a full-time, onsite role with strong project ownership from concept through to manufacturing release. You’ll be responsible for designing large mechanical assemblies and equipment such as material handling and coil processing systems, developing 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings , generating BOMs and engineering documentation , and ensuring design for manufacturing (DFM) principles are applied throughout every project. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you’ll work closely with manufacturing, fabrication, and project engineering to bring custom build-to-order equipment from concept to reality. This role includes mechanical component selection (bearings, gearboxes, cylinders, drives, etc.), mechanical layout development , and structural design for heavy-duty applications . You’ll also support prototype builds and shop floor troubleshooting as needed to ensure successful equipment performance.
