Structural Design Engineer MI Engineers Wollongong - South Coast, NSW Who are we looking for? MI Engineers is seeking a passionate and driven Structural Designer to join our growing Design & Project Management team in our Wollongong NSW office. The successful candidate will support our business in project delivery of a wide variety of infrastructure design projects. Clear communication skills and enjoyment working in a team environment is essential. Your key responsibilities include: All aspects of design in structural engineering. Involvement in projects from technical design and documentation through to completion on site. Preparation of design sketches and details for drafting by technical staff and oversee the design development and documentation. Undertake site inspections. Practice safety in project design and delivery, supported by quality checking and verification activities. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders Identifying potential or existing issues with designs and communicating possible solutions. Leading and mentoring of junior staff. About you: Minimum 5 years' recent experience working in a structural engineering design consultancy. The ability to 'hit the ground running' with proficiency in the use of software such as AutoCAD and SPACEGASS is essential Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Great relationship building and communication skills Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent experience Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, or closely related field Experience in the management and mentoring of staff. Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and design codes (AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 1170) Current Australian driver's licence for site inspection requirements What's in it for you?
