About The Role The Ophthalmologist will play a crucial role in conducting medical evaluations for Veterans at Loyal Source Government Services (LSGS) owned facilities. This position involves conducting focused exams for the Medical Disability Examination Program at different locations across the United States, supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality services to those who have served. Responsibilities Conduct medical disability evaluations for Veterans. Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) for the Medical Disability Examination Program. Perform exams in Loyal Source Clinic facilities according to your designated availability. Conduct assessments without providing or recommending treatment or procedures. Attend training and support sessions as required. Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree and completed ophthalmology residency. Current full and unrestricted license(s), permits, accreditation, and certificates required by law, and not barred from practicing such health care profession in any State, the District of Columbia, or a Commonwealth, territory, or possession of the United States. Current and bi-annual certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). 1 year conducting Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) and completing Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) for the Medical Disability Examination Program. Additional Qualifications Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions. Customer service-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
