Job Description

The Global Trade Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with IMMEX regulations and supporting import/export operations. This position helps maintain IMMEX certification, avoid customs penalties, and optimize duty savings strategies. The role also supports broader trade compliance, logistics coordination, and documentation management across North America. Primary Responsibilities • Manage Annex 24 inventory tracking system and ensure accurate customs control of temporarily imported goods • Conduct monthly inventory balance reports for IMMEX and Annex 31 • Maintain electronic and physical customs records per Mexican regulations • Implement compliance controls and support internal audits • Coordinate import planning across ocean, land, and air freight • Prepare and validate Pedimentos (Annex 22) for accuracy and compliance • Track and trace shipments; ensure timely customs clearance • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, IMMEX consultants, and internal teams • Prepare and manage customs paperwork, permits, and Certificates of Origin • Serve as initial point of contact for customs audits, inquiries, and penalty notices • Develop SOPs and provide training on customs and trade processes • Monitor KPIs and issue regular compliance and performance reports Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field • 3–5 years of experience in import/export operations, IMMEX compliance, or customs management • Strong understanding of IMMEX regulations, Annex 24, VAT Certification, Annex 31, and Pedimento validation • Fluent in Spanish; Conversational English (minimum B2/C1 proficiency) • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP systems • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills • Demonstrated competencies in Innovation, Accountability, Performance Excellence, Change and Risk Taking, Customer Focus, and Teamwork Preferred Requirements • Master’s degree in International Business or Logistics • 5 years of experience in IMMEX compliance and international trade operations • Customs broker certification or related licenses • Experience with bonded warehouse operations and duty mitigation strategies • Familiarity with customs compliance software and reporting tools
