Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee the daily operation of the shopping centre to ensure a clean, safe, and customer-friendly environment. Coordinate with security, cleaning, and maintenance staff or contractors to ensure service standards are maintained. Manage centre opening hours, emergency procedures, and ensure health & safety compliance. Tenant Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for tenants regarding lease terms, operational issues, and support services. Monitor tenant performance and ensure adherence to centre rules and lease agreements. Coordinate tenant move-ins/move-outs and liaise with leasing and legal departments as required. Financial & Budget Management: Prepare, manage, and report on annual budgets, operating expenses, and capital expenditures. Monitor income from tenants, parking, and other revenue streams. Ensure timely rent collection and follow up on arrears. Marketing & Customer Engagement: Develop and implement local marketing initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and promotional events to attract foot traffic. Work with marketing teams or external agencies to promote the centres offerings and build community engagement. Gather customer feedback and monitor trends to improve customer experience. Maintenance & Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure high standards of maintenance and cleanliness. Manage repair requests and coordinate with contractors or facility teams for timely resolution. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Reporting & Compliance: Provide regular performance reports to property owners or senior management. Ensure compliance with local laws, zoning regulations, and company policies. Keep accurate records related to leases, expenses, maintenance logs, and incidents. Required Skills and Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Property Management, Real Estate, or related field. Experience with property management software and basic IT tools. Familiarity with local retail trends and consumer behavior. Proven experience in retail, property, or facilities management, preferably in a shopping centre or retail environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Financial literacy and experience with budgeting and reporting. Good understanding of commercial leasing and tenant management. Problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
