Software Application Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Application Engineer to join its office in ROME within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division. Mission RINA's activities in Rome focus on software engineering tasks, including system requirements analysis, software requirements definition, solution design, interfacing with System Engineering and Leonardo Labs, verification, and validation. The goal is to conduct a technological maturation study and develop a demonstrator for the Italian Air Force. Key Accountabilities Technical project management Technical interface with client and development team Software requirement definition Software design, including requirements and architecture Support in verification and validation phases Qualifications Required skills include: Experience with microservice architecture tools (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes) Experience managing communication systems between microservices (REST APIs, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) Experience developing modern, scalable user interfaces with reusable components Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular Knowledge of security standards like OIDC and OAuth for authentication/authorization Experience with HTTP protocol Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink Understanding of DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) protocol Experience with CI/CD pipelines, repositories, versioning tools (gitlab, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Nexus), and DevSecOps automation and security systems Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Competencies ADDRESS THE WAY - Big picture thinking and reinterpretation CLIENT INTIMACY - Meeting internal and external client needs BUILD NETWORK - Establishing trust across departments and outside the organization EARN TRUST - Valuing diverse opinions and openness MAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Prioritizing activities effectively MANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognizing and regulating emotional responses PIONEER CHANGE - Embracing and leveraging change PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - Acting as a role model in commitments THINK FORWARD - Using past experiences to plan ahead RINA is a multinational company offering services across energy, marine, certification, infrastructure & mobility, industry, and R&D sectors.
