Mechanical Design Engineer Industry: Scientific Instrumentation Location: North London Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 A growing technology company at the forefront of scientific research and instrumentation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D team. The company develops complex, high-precision systems used across a wide range of industries. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of next-generation systems, tackling issues associated with precision instrumentation. You’ll play a key role in taking products from concept through to manufacture, working in a multi-disciplinary team where innovation and problem-solving are highly valued. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop precision components and mechanisms Take products from early stage concepts to production Specify and integrate motorised chamber mechanisms and actuators Develop fabricated, machined, and formed parts, from specification to testing Produce detailed CAD models and engineering drawings Support prototyping, assembly, and testing of new systems Key Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and product development Strong 3D CAD skills - SolidWorks Experience in electro-mechanical products, scientific instrumentation or control systems Knowledge of manufacturing processes - fabrication, machining, and 3D printing Familiarity with ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 quality systems If you’re an innovative Mechanical Design Engineer looking to apply your skills in the development of cutting-edge precision instrumentation, we’d love to hear from you.
