About the Team The Grid Connections team manages the technical and commercial aspects of connecting renewable energy projects to Australia's electricity transmission and distribution networks. As Australia's renewable energy pipeline continues to expand and grid connection processes become increasingly complex, the team's expertise in network engineering, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management is crucial for delivering projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate will join a specialist technical team focused on managing grid connections for large-scale renewable energy projects across the NEM. This role suits experienced grid connection professionals who understand the technical complexities of renewable energy integration and want to work with cutting-edge renewable technologies at utility scale. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete grid connection process for renewable energy projects, from initial feasibility through to energisation and commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to work on major renewable energy projects and contribute to Australia's clean energy transition through successful grid integration of wind, solar, and storage assets. Key responsibilities will include: Managing grid connection applications and approval processes for large-scale renewable energy projects across the NEMCoordinating with TNSPs and DNSPs on connection requirementsDeveloping connection strategies and technical solutions for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projectsManaging grid connection studies including system impact studies, network modelling, and protection coordinationOverseeing connection agreement negotiations and technical requirements complianceCoordinating with project development teams on site selection, layout optimisation, and grid connection feasibilityManaging relationships with AEMO, network operators, and regulatory authorities on connection mattersSupervising the design and construction of transmission line connections and substation infrastructureEnsuring compliance with grid codes, technical standards, and connection requirementsManaging grid connection budgets, timelines, and contractor relationshipsSupporting due diligence processes for project financing and investment decisionsCoordinating commissioning activities and grid energisation processesProviding technical input on grid constraint analysis and network capacity assessments About the Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in grid connections and electrical network engineering, with specific expertise in renewable energy project development. Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate complex technical processes across multiple stakeholders are essential for success in this role.
