The lyf Elizabeth Melbourne, managed by The Ascott Limited, now seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join as Hotel Accountant. This full-time role will report to the lyf Champion and work closely with other departments. lyf Elizabeth Melbourne is set to open its doors in late November 2025. In this role you will be responsible for: Preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards and regulations. Conducting variance and performance analysis, providing insights, and recommending corrective actions to support business objectives. Managing internal controls, audits, and statutory compliance, including tax filings and adherence to hotel-specific legal requirements. Monitoring and optimizing cash flow, treasury activities, and working capital through effective management of receivables, payables, and vendor relationships. Partnering with operations and leadership teams to evaluate budgets, capital expenditure proposals, and cost-saving initiatives, delivering actionable financial insights. To be successful in this role you must have: Strong experience in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance within the hospitality or service industry. Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into strategic recommendations. Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and MS Excel, with keen attention to detail and data integrity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and support senior management decisions.
