This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 Comet Bay's motto is 'Seek Excellence' and this underpins everything we do. Comet Bay College is a modern state of the art educational facility catering for students in Year 7 to Year 12. The college is situated in Secret Harbour a coastal community 64 kilometres from Perth and draws students from its partner primary schools located in the Golden Bay, Secret Harbour and Singleton areas. Find out more about our school by visiting www.cometbaycollege.wa.edu.au or School Online The Role The successful applicant will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning whilst performing external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, and other general cleaning. The successful applicant will complete vacation cleaning duties, including the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets and other such duties as required in the Fundamentals of Cleaning Guidelines. The successful applicant will open and lock the school, including setting the security alarm system whilst liaising with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters, ensuring advice and support is current, relevant and consistent with the Department’s policies, training and procedures on school cleaning. The successful applicant will conduct monthly cleaning inspections with the Manager Corporate Services whilst recording and responding to issues and concerns detailed in the Communications Book. The successful applicant will manage hazardous substances in accordance with occupational safety and health legislation, including maintaining records whilst reporting all faults, maintenance (including graffiti), incidents and issues to the Manager Corporate Services, ensuring school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department and occupational safety and health standards, training and procedures.
