Civil-Structural Engineer - Power Delivery (Substation Design)

Job Description Job Description About the Role Join a dynamic engineering team delivering innovative civil-structural design and engineering services for Transmission Substation projects. As a Civil-Structural Engineer , you’ll lead the design and analysis of complex substation structures and foundations, provide project oversight, and contribute to proposal development and client relationship management. What You’ll Do Lead civil-structural engineering efforts for substation design projects Provide expert technical support for complex engineering challenges Develop and review civil-structural drawing packages (foundations, structural steel, bus, cable) Ensure compliance with national codes , industry standards, and best practices Monitor and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables Collaborate with clients, project managers, and cross-discipline engineering teams Support proposal writing , project scoping , and cost estimation Mentor junior engineers and lead design review processes Industry: Electric Utility / Power Delivery Key Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) 5–7 years of civil engineering experience in the power delivery or electric utility industry Professional Engineering (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 1 year) Experience with substation foundation and structure design Proficient in engineering software (e.g., STAAD, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD) Strong knowledge of drilled piers , transformer pads , and oil containment design Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings and reports Preferred Experience Experience with field engineering and construction support Proven track record in project management and team coordination Familiarity with permitting support , estimating, and construction documentation Knowledge of steel and wood structure analysis , QA/QC, and industry best practices Why Join Us?
