Senior Design Manager

Senior Design Manager - Engineer Team Location Coalville, LE67 3HP, with hybrid working (3 days in office, mix of home, office, and site-based work across the East Midlands). Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Engineer team, focusing on key projects across the East Midlands, including Peterborough (Hospital), Leicester (Pepsi R&D Facility), and Northampton (roof projects for International Academy), with additional projects as needed. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 12-month contract with the potential to become permanent, offering excellent career prospects. Key Responsibilities Lead design management for multiple projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery. Assess project requirements, develop plans, and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Coordinate and manage design processes across various sites in the East Midlands. Work independently, hitting the ground running with minimal supervision. Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet technical and client specifications. Requirements Proven experience as a Design Manager in engineering or construction projects. Ability to assess, plan, and manage complex design projects with confidence and autonomy. Strong organizational and communication skills to provide clear project updates. Willingness to travel across the East Midlands (Peterborough, Leicester, Northampton) as required. Not a project manager transitioning to design work; must have established design management expertise. Comfortable with a hybrid working model (3 days in Coalville office, some home and site-based work). Working Arrangements Hybrid Role : 3 days per week in the office (Coalville, LE67 3HP), with a mix of home working and site visits. Travel : Regular travel to project sites in the East Midlands. No mileage paid for commuting or site visits. Contract Duration Initial 12-month contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role.
