Senior Underwriter About the role Are you an experienced Senior Underwriter looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our highly regarded Underwriting Team. At Darlington Building Society, you’ll be helping us grow our lending proposition and provide a fantastic service to our members. On a daily basis, you’ll use your extensive experience to assess and make decisions on complex mortgage applications within your mandate. With a strong focus on quality and risk, you’ll balance efficiency with attention to detail, ensuring the best outcomes for both our members and the Society. This role requires someone who is confident working independently, takes initiative, and consistently looks for ways to improve processes. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues and external partners, building strong relationships that create a smooth and supportive mortgage journey for our members. You’ll become an advocate of our lending policy, developing an in-depth knowledge of it and contributing your ideas to help us continually improve our underwriting function. ________________________________________ We are looking for someone who: • Has significant underwriting experience and has held their own mandate of £500K or more. • Is passionate about delivering the right outcomes for our members. • Excels at building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. • Is confident working independently as well as part of a team. • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Possesses a keen eye for detail and loves finding solutions to problems. ________________________________________ Why work for us?
