Accounts Assistant

Downey Osborne is delighted to be working with a growing company who is seeking an Accounts/Finance Professional to support the finance function and assist the Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting activities. What you get: £30,000 - £40,000 Early finish Friday Free onsite parking Career progression 28 days holiday Permanent role Healthcare Based in Maghera About You: Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) OR equivalent commercial accounting experience (minimum 1218 months) with demonstrable month-end, reconciliations and transactional competence. Practical experience with month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Good Excel skills and willingness to learn accounting software used by the business (XERO) About Your New Role: Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including supplier payments and creditor reconciliations. Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, and support day-to-day cashflow monitoring. Support payroll processing and liaise with the payroll provider as required. Assist the Financial Controller with month-end close processes, including posting journals, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing accruals (level of responsibility dependent on experience). Contribute to monthly management reporting, including preparation of P&L statements and variance analysis. Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Assist the Financial Controller with audit and year-end activities, providing supporting schedules and documentation as needed. Interested?
