KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing hands-on, commercially focused legal support across the UK, US, Australia, and Hong Kong. You will play a key role in reducing our reliance on external legal providers by building in-house capability, implementing scalable legal processes, and helping the business navigate risk as we expand globally. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys variety, and wants to shape the legal function from the ground up. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the drafting and review of commercial contracts and develop scalable templates and processes for retail/distribution contracts, licensing arrangements. influencer/ambassador deals, and supplier agreements. Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, including commercial, corporate governance, IP, and employment matters. Support international operations by ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in the UK, US, Australia, and Hong Kong, working with local advisers where needed. Develop and implement internal legal frameworks, compliance registers, standard templates, and training to improve efficiency, streamline decision making and reduce external legal spend. Assist with brand protection, including trademark management and enforcement, and support on IP-related queries. Provide guidance on marketing, e-commerce, and consumer law compliance. Liaise with external counsel where specialist support is required, managing quality and cost. PERSON SPECIFICATION UK-qualified solicitor with 4 years PQE, including solid experience in commercial law. In-house experience in a manufacturing, retail, fashion, or consumer goods brand is highly desirable. Familiarity with international commercial matters and a confident, pragmatic approach to navigating multiple jurisdictions. Strong commercial instincts, able to balance legal risk with business objectives. Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, creative environment. Clear communicator with a collaborative and approachable style. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Hours of work: 9-5.30 Monday – Friday Hybrid working (minimum 3 days on-site) Probation process: 4 months Notice period – 2 months INTERVIEW PROCESS Stage 1 Telephone or Teams introduction with Hiring Manager to discuss application, interest in role, and suitability for the role.
