The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to join the senior management team on a £50m new build large-scale warehouse & distribution facility in Bristol. The role involves managing day-to-day site operations, monitoring project progress, proactively resolving on-site issues, and coordinating closely with the project team and stakeholders to ensure seamless and efficient delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, solution-focused approach to ensure the successful, on-time, and within-budget completion of a high-quality facility. What We're Looking For Qualifications: SMSTS First Aid CSCS CardExperience: Proven history of working on large scale new build / refurbishments in the industrial sector with values in excess of £20m Established background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar position with a leading construction contractor or subcontractorKey Skills: IT skills Efficient negotiation skills Effective time management Quality & risk management Understanding of construction laws and regulations Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively In depth understanding of contract terms and conditions Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail Holds a thorough understanding of relevant health and safety regulations A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, and coordinating complex construction projectsKey Responsibilities Inductions Toolbox talks Quality inspections / snagging Ordering / receiving of materials Develop and manage project schedules Chairing and participating in project meetings Foster a positive and collaborative work environment Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary Guarantee compliance with environmental regulations Conduct inspections and address any issues that arise Manage the allocation of equipment, materials, and labour Ensure construction activities adhere to legal requirements Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project progress Making certain all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and documented Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout all construction operations Engage with clients to address issues and ensure their expectations are met throughout the project Maintain detailed project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and compliance documentation Coordinate and manage the assignment of labour, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements Coordinate team activities, provide leadership, and ensure alignment with the project's strategic objectives Create and maintain a positive, inclusive environment that encourages open communication and teamwork Oversee strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies, fostering to a safe work place Monitor project progress and implement schedule adjustments as needed to ensure alignment with project objectives Supervise all aspects of site operations to guarantee the project is completed according to the established timeline, stays within the allocated budget, and adheres to the specified quality standardsWhy Join?
