Mechanical Supervisor

The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems within facilities management. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in mechanical systems, a strong understanding of healthcare environments, and the ability to manage a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will ensure that all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the mechanical maintenance team. Ensure all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, are maintained and repaired to comply with industry standards and regulations. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid system failures. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders and service reports. Collaborate with other departments to support overall facility operations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly those specific to the healthcare sector. Train and mentor team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Assist in budget preparation and manage maintenance budgets effectively.Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (HND/HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems. Experience in the healthcare sector is highly desirable. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in healthcare environments.
