Escape Procurement & Supply Chain are working exclusively with an established manufacturer who is looking to appoint a Buyer to join their Purchasing & Materials team. It is an exciting time to join the business as they are investing in a brand-new production area to increase capacity, with a strong order book already secured for the next 12 months and beyond. The Buyer will play a key part in ensuring materials are sourced, suppliers are managed and production is fully supported. Main responsibilities will include: Managing and reviewing MRP to plan material purchasing in line with production requirements Negotiating prices and delivery schedules with suppliers Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships across the UK and Europe Driving supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality and OTIF Maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production Collaborating with colleagues in engineering, production planning, and finance What we're looking for Experience in a similar Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environment Strong background in raw material purchasing and materials management Confident using MRP systems Proven supplier management and negotiation skills Track record of delivering cost savings and added value through supplier negotiations A collaborative team player with strong self-motivation and work ethic What's on offer 33 days holiday Early Friday finish (12:30pm) Support towards CIPS studies Discretionary performance bonus Life assurance & income protection This is an on-site role.
