Senior Director of Operations

A global manufacturing leader in the medical technology sector is seeking a Director, Operations Engineering to join its leadership team. This role is responsible for setting the strategy and standards of practice for engineering functions, driving innovation, and ensuring world-class manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead engineering strategy across New Product Introduction, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Maintenance, Automation, and Continuous Improvement. Serve as an active member of the site leadership team, collaborating with other Directors and Managers to ensure efficient and profitable operations. Define and implement strategies for automation, process improvement, and production efficiency. Improve collaboration between Engineering, Product Development, and Commercial teams to support business growth. Lead efforts to enhance product development, process design, and manufacturing systems to achieve world-class standards. Implement and standardize project management and prioritization methodologies across the site. Develop capital equipment roadmaps and oversee upgrades in alignment with continuous improvement initiatives. Design and develop new processes to support the successful launch and ramp-up of new products. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred. 10–12 years of senior-level experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proven track record in developing and leading substantial engineering projects. Knowledge of the medical device industry is a strong advantage, though not required. Expertise in automation, new product introduction, and continuous improvement. Strong leadership skills with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
