Job Description
The Senior Supply Chain Manager leads end-to-end supply chain global operations, overseeing procurement, production planning, logistics, and distribution to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The role is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies, managing supplier and stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. With typically 10–12 years of experience and strong leadership skills, the Senior Supply Chain Manager aligns operations with business objectives, ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and leverages ERP/MRP systems to optimize performance and support organizational growth. The Senior Supply Chain Manager is required to work onsite at Vapotherm's medical device manufacturing facility in Tijuana, MX and communicate both verbally and written in Spanish and English at a B2 level or higher. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain and follow purchasing procedures to conform to business regulations. Ensure data accuracy and maintenance of parts in ERP system; including lead times, ABC classifications, safety stock level, and other planning features. Manage and respond to MRP requirements weekly. Coordinate & expedite the placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material. Resolve discrepancies. Capable of ensuring timely and effective completion of Shortage Report, Late P.O.s, and MRP Action Messages. Coordinate the timely disposition of NCMR’s (DMRs) and support all QA activities to communicate non-conformance and corrective actions with suppliers. Measure and communicate supplier quality and delivery performance. Responsible for driving improvements with Suppliers. Coordinates and runs periodic business reviews with suppliers as necessary. Act as primary interface in communication to suppliers the needs and expectations of product quality, delivery performance and overall company goals. Responsible for initiatives driving results measured by lower material costs, more responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and overall supply chain performance. Develop and manage supplier cost reduction programs and stocking programs to aid in the optimization of inventory. Interfaces with Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, Management, etc. daily communicating status and championing issue resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate accurate forecasts, ensuring consistent supply chain performance. Responsible for understanding product demands, production capacity and inventory goals. When these quantities are out of alignment, provides management with clear, timely and accurate information with which to make decisions. Manages the implementation of Engineering Changes throughout the product lifecycle to minimize obsolete inventory within change effectivity constraints. Implements dispositions affecting stock, work in progress. Is aware of pending changes, manages existing inventory, new and existing orders to ensure expedited cut in of changes Troubleshoot vendor issues and pro-actively offer solutions. Review and/or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws. Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. Lead supply meetings to review supply/demand balances and inventory projections with MKT, Commercial, Finance, Quality & Contract Manufacturing. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as required. Assist with inventory control and physical inventories as necessary. Assist with various manufacturing activities as necessary. Position Requirements - Education, Knowledge, Years of Experience: B.S. Degree in Business, Industrial Eng, Supply Chain preferred or equivalent work experience > 10-12 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of supply chain improvements. Able to speak, understand, and write in Spanish and English at a minimum B2 level. Additional languages a plus. APICS certification is a plus. Proven experience in a fast-paced medical manufacturing environment is required. Ability to rapidly learn new systems and procedures. Able to work effectively under general supervision and established guidelines Valid U.S. visa The employee is required to work onsite in the VapoMex office located in Tijuana, MX, which is manufacturing assembly environment. Skills and Abilities: Broad understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding Production Planning, Purchasing and material and capacity planning methodologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and ERP systems and advanced planning modules. Direct use of inventory optimization tools (e.g. Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9 solutions, custom built Python models, or similar) is a plus. Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts. Ability to translate analytics into actionable strategies and communicate with non-technical stakeholders. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills. The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, or stand. Able to travel internationally when needed.
