Senior Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing and dynamic organization in the retail sector, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead their accounting function. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a talented team, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and play a key part in driving process improvements within a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsOversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysisManage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and developmentPartner with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and operational initiativesEnsure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirementsDrive process improvements and support system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracyLiaise with external auditors and support audit processesQualifications:CPA designation required7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a management roleStrong knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS) and internal controlsPrevious experience in the retail industry or other multi-location, inventory-heavy environments preferredProven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a teamStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAdvanced Excel skills; ERP system experience considered an assetWhy Join?Work in a collaborative and fast-paced retail environmentExposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence strategic decisionsCompetitive compensation package, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefitsCareer growth potential in a thriving organizationThis search is being led by Nina Koebel.
