ABOUT THE ROLE As a Customs Entry Specialist , you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance and accuracy in the importation of goods into the United States. You will be responsible for auditing customs entries, invoices, and broker submissions to confirm compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, company policies, and country-of-origin requirements. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, knowledge of customs procedures, and the ability to work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to safeguard the company´s global trade compliance program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct detailed audits of entry packets received from the company´s primary customs brokers and freight forwarders (DSV, ICEGLOBAL, UPS, Mexico/ODC). Retrieve and review entry packets, including Entry Summary, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading. Cross-reference entries with the ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) portal to verify alignment of declared values, duties, and country of origin. Validate that duty percentages and tariff classifications are accurate and in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. Spot-check commercial invoices against declared entry values to identify discrepancies. Ensure that all applicable fees, tariffs, and charges are correct prior to approval of payment. Escalate inconsistencies, errors, or compliance concerns to the supervisor immediately. Maintain thorough documentation of all audits for internal controls and external regulatory compliance. Collaborate with brokers, freight forwarders, and internal trade compliance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy of submissions. Stay current with U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification updates, and trade compliance requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration, International Commerce, or similar with 5 years of experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, or related logistics/supply chain role. Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, tariff classifications, and customs entry processes. Proficiency in using the ACE portal and handling entry packets. High attention to detail with excellent auditing and documentation skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Preferred: Licensed Customs Broker or working toward licensure. Experience working with major freight forwarders and customs brokers. Familiarity with international trade compliance and free trade agreements (e.g., USMCA). Experience in the medical device, automotive, or manufacturing industries.
