Job Description

A public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Local HR Business Partner on a permanent basis. Based in London, the role will be offered hybrid with 2 days in the office per week required. This role would suit someone who is looking to make a move into business partnering or in a similar role and looking to build on their experience. They have some excellent benefits including a local government pension scheme (around 8% employers’ contribution) and they will support training and development for those studying CIPD. This role will require the successful candidate to undergo security clearance checks (SC) so it wont be an immediate start. About the Role As an HR Business Partner, you’ll act as an internal HR consultant, supporting business leads across the network. You’ll lead on organisational change, advise on people strategy, and ensure HR processes align with employment law and best practice. This is a dynamic role requiring agility, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder engagement. You’ll be at the heart of delivering the Target Operating Model for the their Network, helping to manage change and mitigate risk across a complex and high-impact environment. Key Responsibilities Lead HR elements of organisational change and strategic people initiatives. Advise on employment law and HR risks during change design and implementation. Design and deliver HR plans and selection processes. Facilitate consultation with Trade Unions and Staff Associations. Prepare communications and briefing materials for staff and senior leaders. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and HR SMEs Stay informed on emerging case law and HR trends. Essential Criteria Strong knowledge of employment law and HR policies. Proven experience in leading HR change programmes. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver at pace. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data. Experience working in complex organisations and advising senior managers. Desirable CIPD qualified.
