Job Description
A large public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Higher HR Workforce Analyst on a permanent basis. Based in London, the role will be offered hybrid with 2 days in the office per week required. They have some excellent benefits including a local government pension scheme (around 28% employers’ contribution) and they will support training and development for those studying CIPD. Annual leave will be 28 days bank holidays. This role will require the successful candidate to undergo security clearance checks (SC) so it wont be an immediate start. They are looking for a skilled and strategic Higher Workforce Analyst to lead workforce analysis and planning across a large, complex organisation. This is a pivotal role where your insights will directly influence recruitment, retention, and long-term workforce strategy—ensuring the organisation remains agile, efficient, and well-resourced to meet future challenges. Key Responsibilities Workforce Data & Analysis Lead the collection, collation, and analysis of workforce data across multiple departments. Develop dashboards, reports, and forecasts to monitor workforce trends and recruitment pipelines. Apply advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns and inform strategic decisions. Present insights to senior boards and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact. Strategic Workforce Planning Support long-term workforce planning, including scenario modelling and forecasting up to 5 years. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Planning teams to align workforce needs with organisational goals. Track KPIs and assess performance against strategic workforce plans. Provide recommendations to improve performance and address supply/demand gaps. Leadership & Collaboration Line-manage a Workforce Analyst, providing mentorship, feedback, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence. Work collaboratively across HR and business planning functions, responding flexibly to changing demands. Data Governance & Compliance Ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards (FOIA, GDPR, DPA). Maintain data repositories and catalogues, supporting effective decision-making. Champion best practices in data governance and workforce analytics. The ideal candidate A degree or professional qualification in analytics, HR, business, or a related field – or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years’ experience in workforce planning, HR analytics, or business performance modelling in a complex environment. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior stakeholders. Experience in strategic workforce planning, scenario modelling, and data governance. A proactive mindset with the ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement.
