Senior Unity Engineer/ Player-Manager Department: Software Engineering Location: 320 Congress Street, Floor 1 Boston, MA 02210 Autonodyne is a dynamic Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. We are seeking an experienced Senior Unity Engineer / Player–Manager to lead both technically and strategically in the development of command and control systems for aerospace applications. This role combines hands-on software engineering with leadership responsibilities—you will architect and build mission-critical systems while managing, mentoring, and growing a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in Unity and C#, a proven track record in mission-critical or embedded systems, and strong leadership abilities. You will set technical direction, guide your team through execution, and ensure the successful delivery of cutting-edge autonomy solutions. Responsibilities: Architect, develop, and optimize Unity/C# applications for aerospace command & control systems. Lead system/software design for complex, high-impact components. Build mission computer software using C#, C++, and C for embedded devices. Apply Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing best practices. Mentor and manage engineers—set goals, review performance, grow talent. Serve as technical lead for internal teams and external customers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science/ programming or related field 3 years of experience in a Software Engineering or Unity Game Developer role Demonstrated advanced capabilities with Unity, like extending existing code, complex decision-trees/ state machines, and developing editor tools. Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely. Experienced leader who supports individual growth and a mentor to less experienced team members. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in computer science/ programming or related field Experience being a lead or Senior Developer. Active DoD Secret Clearance. Travel: This position will likely involve travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (10-20%) but global travel is also possible. Salary Range:$115,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
