Overview : As a Laboratory Technician at InVivo Biosystems, you will contribute to genome editing and phenotyping projects, performing scalable, reproducible assays in C. elegans and/or zebrafish. This role requires strong lab skills, precision in microscopic manipulations, and expertise in molecular biology techniques to screen, propagate, and phenotype genome-edited animals. Additionally, we are seeking someone with experience in electrophysiological animal phenotyping. Beyond hands-on bench work, you will document and analyze experimental data, maintain accurate records, standardize protocols across the team, and draft technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. As an independent and collaborative team member, you will make contributions to technical discussions, present findings internally, and support project planning. You may also mentor and train junior technicians and supervise lab assistants as needed. What You'll be Doing: Execute phenotyping experiments to assess the functional impact of genome edits or compound treatment, using behavioral, imaging, physiological and molecular readouts. Perform precise microscopic manipulations, such as microinjections or microdisections, with a high level of skill and accuracy. Detect precise genome edits in vivo using standard to advanced molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, qPCR, and sequencing. Screen and propagate genome-edited animals, ensuring proper maintenance, genotyping, and tracking of genetic modifications. Work collaboratively with the team to meet commercial timelines, with the ability to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously. Contribute to continuous process improvement to optimize processes & timelines. Adhere to SOPs and provide detailed project tracking and documentation. Prepare solutions and buffers as necessary to complete the above activities Other responsibilities as assigned and support other teams as needed. What You Bring to the Table: InVivo Biosystems is looking for individuals that possess a positive can-do attitude, are motivated by doing a job well, are adaptable and flexible, have a continuous improvement mindset and will thrive in a fast-paced collaborative and diverse environment. In addition, successful candidates will have the following qualifications: BS in biology, bioengineering or similar life sciences field and at least 4 years of related laboratory experience. Master's degree preferred. Experience with zebrafish, C. elegans, drosophila or other animal models (including husbandry). Priority given to candidates with previous experience with electrophysiology. Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and protocols High attention to detail, ability to creatively troubleshoot and reliability are a must.
