Senior Agronomist

Join to apply for the SENIOR AGRONOMIST role at ZERO ZERO is seeking a Senior Agronomist who, reporting to management, will ensure strategic and operational coordination of research and development activities, focusing on agronomy applied to controlled environment cultivation (CEA). Working on dedicated R&D facilities and pilot production plants, the candidate will be responsible for defining, validating, and industrializing cultivation recipes and protocols to support industrial rollout in production facilities. Main Responsibilities Coordinate agronomic R&D: Manage the team of agronomic researchers, support technical development, and foster professional growth to design, optimize, and industrialize cultivation recipes and protocols. Operational and strategic supervision: Organize and monitor experimental plans, setting and tracking deadlines, objectives, KPIs, and budgets. Interdepartmental collaboration: Maintain ongoing coordination with engineering teams for technological solutions and with Operations & Maintenance teams for technical agronomic support in managing production farms. External partnerships and innovation: Manage relationships with external partners (e.g., research institutions, universities, companies) to explore and evaluate new scientific, experimental, and technological solutions. Requirements Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences or equivalent; Proven experience in the plant production sector and advanced knowledge of systems and cultivation in controlled environments; Experience in agronomic R&D, preferably in innovative settings or related to CEA cultivation (vertical farms, greenhouses, etc.); Project management and leadership skills in multidisciplinary teams; Excellent written and spoken English skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Autonomy, leadership, and excellent organizational skills.
