Location / Region : France or Italy or Spain – Close to an international airport with direct connections to European capitals Reports to : Sr Director, Service EMEAI Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required Interactions : The Director of Service is responsible for achieving customer, operational and financial targets for the South region of France, Iberia and Italy. This role is instrumental in fostering strong communication and collaboration with functional groups. You will partner closely with business and commercial stakeholders to deliver an exceptional customer experience, drive loyalty and enable revenue growth within the company. You will be responsible for driving Strategic visions and operational rigor, ensuring the delivery of predictable, scalable and efficient services. The ideal candidate possesses an outstanding blend of business acumen, people leadership, situational agility, effective communication, positivity and a passion for exceeding customer expectations. Delivering on operational business performance, by supporting management team to achieve / exceed assigned installation, maintenance and repair targets through effective use of DBS tools and processes, coaching and development of leaders Achieve annual targets for service and support performance metrics including customer (net easy score), operational (uptime, response time, planned maintenance backlog, utilization), and financial (revenue, standard / gross margin, operating income) across business Involvement in monthly revenue / expense forecasting and operational performance review, quarterly business updates and annual P&L planning Foster a culture rooted in the company’s values, while reinforcing the service and support strategy that aligns to our regional priorities Education and / or Work Experience Requirements : BA or BS degree with science or engineering background 4 years leadership / management experience of service General knowledge of applications and instrumentation used in research, applied and clinical end markets Strategic mindset with attention to detail, plus a willingness to be a hands-on leader that builds trust and followership Proactively leveraging data or insights, including key performance indicators, to understand, identify or predict trends to guide actions and drive desired behaviors Exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills, including active listening, communication and consultative dialogue with expertise in working effectively and creatively with a wide variety of individuals and groups Additional Requirements : Identifying and implementing process improvements and change to increase the group’s effectiveness and value to its customers Knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply the DBS tools to effectively deliver continuous improvement. Spend at least 10% of the time “in the field”, visiting customers to develop and maintain good relationships, monitor customer satisfaction and market the services and value provided The provision of coaching, advice guidance and feedback to the service staff as required, maximizing performance and employee Willingness to travel, approximately 25-30% Attract, develop and retain talent, including people leaders, and maintain high employee engagement with a focus on safety, well-being and work-life balance.
