Job Description

Description The Project Engineer is the technical leader for the project, responsible for guaranteeing the completion of activities through the coordination of Work Package Leaders (WPLs) for subsystems. Main responsibilities include: Ensuring the delivery of design work packages on schedule and within budget. Leading project monitoring and control activities, including schedule maintenance, MPR updates, meeting minutes, risk register, and change orders. Prioritizing and monitoring software problem reports and executing tasks within engineering and software development. Tracking performance and analyzing the achievement of key goals. Conducting regular meetings with clients to clarify requirements and meet deadlines. Collecting KPIs to monitor project status. Monitoring and maintaining the project budget. Managing TXCR through proper creation by WPLs. Planning design reviews during the project lifecycle to define GO/NOGO steps. Facilitating scope and requirement discussions with technical teams and customers. Documenting and reporting project progress to stakeholders and clients. Participating actively in defining the overall technical solution. Ensuring project objectives are communicated and aligned with the schedule. Maintaining configuration management, including document management and transmittal processes. Delegating tasks to team members based on their skills and experience. Following up on requirement specifications and integration compliance within the project and system disciplines. Required Skills / Knowledge Minimum 5 years of experience as a project engineer or lead systems/software engineer for large software control systems. Good knowledge of German Railway signaling and control systems. Experience with basic project management. Experience in budget management, schedule monitoring, risk management, resource and task management. Understanding of software development lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project or Primavera, requirements management systems, and configuration tools. Experience managing small to medium-sized projects and teams. Ability to lead and engage cross-functional teams. Proven multi-tasking skills across multiple projects. Strong communication and leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Desired Skills / Knowledge Rail or rail transit domain experience (preferred). Experience supporting Bids and Proposals (preferred). Knowledge of systems architecture design. Experience with mission-critical control systems. Leadership experience in functional or project management roles. Education Bachelor’s Degree.
