Job Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience not specified License: California State License required Certifications: BLS, ARRT with Fluoroscopy and CRT required for IR Technologist Must-Have: CVT license preferred Description: Need either a CVT Scrub Technologist or an Interventional Radiology Technologist. Shift hours include either 7:30 am to 6:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Must be available for on-call responsibilities. Embrace core values of service, excellence, knowledge, stability, and community. Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning. Consistently produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Work cooperatively with department members to resolve problems expediently. Display flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when interacting with customers. Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity for patient rights in all interfaces with patients. Adhere to organizational and department-specific policies and procedures, especially regarding safety protocols. Consistently practice the ALARA safety principle. Actively create a safe delivery environment for patient care. Correct and report any unsafe conditions immediately. Practice aseptic technique, isolation, and infection control procedures. Understand and apply knowledge of Radiation Safety and related policies. Use two patient identifiers before beginning any exam. Maintain confidentiality per regulatory requirements. Administer oral contrast as needed for examinations. Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations. Assist Radiologist during procedures efficiently. Demonstrate competence in operation of all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems. Report any equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead. Complete all assigned procedures promptly and assist others when possible. Understand and fulfill medication security responsibilities. Provide healthcare services competently across all age groups. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with patients and staff alike. Utilize Hospital Information System, Radiology Information System, and PACS effectively. Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted. Maintain good phone etiquette when addressing inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel. Keep workspace stocked with necessary supplies efficiently. Recognize and perform necessary tasks beyond direct assignments.
