Job Description

University of Nottingham Italy (UNIT) is a research centre established by the University of Nottingham UK and located in Naples. UNIT is working in synergy with Italian and EU partners on new R&D projects offering world-leading expertise and experience developed by the University of Nottingham’s leading academics and researchers in the field of aerospace electrification. Our key research focus is net zero carbon aircraft, achieved through the development of innovative aircraft electrification technologies. Purpose of the Role Master Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Information Engineering or in a very closely related topic Good knowledge in electromechanical systems, including electric machines, power electronic converters and their control strategies Excellent knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink / Simscape software and related toolboxes General knowledge of aircraft electric power systems, their architectures and operation principles Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Recruited personnel will start a professional experience, leveraging the following opportunities : Excellent training on the job, facing challenging problems and interacting on a daily basis with national and international partners The opportunity to pursue professional objectives of interest to you Contribution to climate change mitigation by proposing innovative solutions to reduce emissions generated by the aviation sector. Subject to meeting work eligibility requirements, we offer full-time employment, yearly gross salary starting from 35k€, and hybrid working pattern.
