Procurement Specialist

Duties & Responsibilities Cost responsibility for the procurement of direct materials. Accurately and timely maintenance of SAP data to allow planning to execute Purchase orders. Point of escalation to help resolve delivery issues, capacity, payments and lead time. Manage cost reduction Pipeline to continuously drive savings opportunities. Categorize spend to identify savings opportunities, high risk, single and sole source suppliers. Conduct DFM’s with Engineering and Suppliers to optimize design cost upfront Use Cost breakdowns / Benchmarking to ensure competitiveness of supply base Point Conduct cost/price analysis for all products under jurisdiction. Analyze historical commodity trends and contribute to the development of projected commodity strategy. Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism. Manage supplier delivery/quality problems, capacity constraints, etc. Continue to analyze and assess the adequacy of our supplier base for each assigned commodity and to develop additional sources of supply were deemed advantageous. Identifies commodities for strategic sourcing agreements and screens buyer commitment reports on an ongoing basis to identify new part categories or individual part numbers for strategic sourcing. Strongly understanding and working knowledge of SAP. Important Skills Required Degree in Finance or Business, Mechanical or Industrial engineer or a Professional Purchasing Qualification A minimum of 6 years of purchasing experience. Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams. Proven track record of successful project management. Preferably knowledgeable on Industrial manufacturing processes, and experience in the telecom sector or related business Experience in purchasing technical commodities requiring close interface with engineering. Successfully demonstrated negotiation skills. Well versed in cost/price analysis techniques. Strong strategic and technical capabilities with a proven track record of commodity and/or procurement strategy development SAP Experience preferred Fluent in English and Spanish
