Lead Research Scientist

Addresses problems of technical complexity, engages with multifunctional teams on identifying challenges, proposes innovative solutions accordingly, and develops Dow Proprietary state-of-the-art technologies. Responsibilities / Duties Defines and conducts research on projects using advanced knowledge of scientific principles, theory, and experimental design within a scientific discipline. Develops and implements technical solutions through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving for research problems that are well defined within a project area. Consistently applies the Scientific Method in the planning and execution of experimental plans and problem solving. Formulates hypotheses and develops experimental plans to test hypotheses. Keeps current with developments in relevant areas of technology. Serves as a peer coach and provides constructive advice on projects within the team. Proposes project proposals aligned with business strategies and objectives. Modifies communication appropriately for both internal and external audiences. Demonstrates a working knowledge of team alignment with R&D and Business goals. Education Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field required. Master's degree or PhD preferred.
