THE OPPORTUNITY We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer for our Mobile Platform team in Portugal! The Mobile Platform team is responsible for enabling engineers to work more efficiently and bringing a better developer experience, working on observability, performance, and having ownership of release management. As a Staff Software Engineer, you are a passionate developer driven by delivering high-quality, timely solutions. You will have opportunities to participate in architectural decisions, suggest improvements, and collaborate with the product team and other stakeholders in a highly agile environment. YOUR IMPACT Participate in developing critical and challenging services within our ecosystem, aiming for sustainable, long-term solutions; Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience; Ensure systems reliability, scalability, SLA, and SLO adherence; Support existing systems to enhance functionality, increase scale, and adapt to new product demands; Work collaboratively in an agile environment that values people over processes and emphasizes productivity; Participate in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production; Maintain the technical vision of projects for clarity and completeness; Work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale; Ensure successful delivery and promote the long-term technical health of our products; Maintain high code quality standards, fostering pride in development work; Spread best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, and TDD; Live the mission by inspiring and empowering others, prioritizing wellbeing, and creating a supportive environment for work-life balance. Main requirements WHO YOU ARE Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience; Experience designing and developing complex modern web applications; Experience with React Native ecosystem; Experience in web/mobile development and accessibility; Experience with Firebase ecosystem (Custom events, remote configs, Crashlytics); Experience with component-driven libraries/frameworks and Hybrid Native approach; Experience implementing prototypes, MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles for production rollout; Experience with Design Systems and UX patterns; Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; Experience with cloud architectures (AWS/GCP); Experience developing RESTful/GraphQL web services following HTTP best practices; Excellent communication skills in English, capable of articulating ideas clearly to groups.
