Senior Technician

Key Responsibilities Install smoke detection and gas suppression systems according to plans, specifications, and safety codes. Conduct inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs to ensure full system functionality. Program and configure fire detection control panels. Lead system commissioning, loop checks, and cause-and-effect verification. Prepare accurate service and commissioning reports. Liaise with clients, engineers, consultants, and authorities during projects. Assist with tender bids, bills of quantities, and accurate pricing for installations and SLAs. Oversee safety, resources, and project budgets on-site. Train end-users and support system handovers. Ensure compliance with SANS and relevant fire safety regulations. Requirements Proven experience in fire detection and suppression systems. Strong knowledge of installation, programming, and commissioning processes. Ability to interpret design plans and fire safety codes. Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Strong communication and client relationship skills. Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when required.
