Job Description
Product Engineer A leading global manufacturer in the automotive sector is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join its Applications Engineering team. This role will focus on the design, development, and launch of thermal comfort systems for vehicle interiors, ensuring high-quality, innovative solutions are delivered on time and within budget. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with global customers, cross-functional teams, and manufacturing operations from concept through high-volume production. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of thermal management systems (heating, cooling, and ventilation) from concept to production. Ensure all designs meet applicable industry standards, specifications, and safety requirements while adhering to the APQP process. Act as the primary technical liaison between the customer and project management teams. Initiate, review, and release design documentation, including FMEA’s, DVP&R, BOMs, and drawings. Organize and maintain manufacturing and industrial engineering documentation for new and existing products. Conduct and lead design reviews, auditing progress throughout the product life cycle. Collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve design-related issues during validation and production phases. Oversee product testing, analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Identify and implement product improvements and cost-reduction opportunities. Continuously enhance product design and internal engineering processes to improve customer satisfaction. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry . Strong background in product development and successful launch into high-volume production. Proficiency in FMEA, DVP&R, and APQP methodologies. CAD experience in CATIA, Pro-E, UniGraphics, IDEAS or similar; AutoCAD proficiency for drawing releases. Solid understanding of automotive interiors and thermal management systems (preferred). Knowledge of manufacturing processes for similar products. Strong communication skills and ability to manage customer relationships. Experience in automotive project management and cross-functional collaboration. Knowledge of test procedures and data analysis.
