Job Description

The Free Trade Agreements Analyst will be responsible for maintaining meticulously organized records of supporting information for all determinations pertaining to Free Trade Agreements complying with the appropriate FTA’s requirements in accordance with Government Trade Laws. Work closely with the Mexico FTA Manager, Trade Compliance colleagues and BU’s gatekeepers acting as a trustable advisor providing support day to day operations and responsibilities. Responsibilities and duties • Provide support to the Company as it works towards achieving FTA’s compliance across the business. • Ensure compliance for all certifications & certificates of origin, validating the proper documents and requirements. • Qualify products for Free Trade Agreements and process FTA’s forms requests. • Maintain KPI’s information updated. • Support about analysis and FTA’s applicability. • Generate reports for KPI’s that demonstrate compliance with established requirements as required by FTA Manager Mexico, Trade Compliance Director Mexico & Americas Trade Compliance Counsel. • Support the Trade Compliance colleagues with the development of the processes required to standardize and streamline FTA’s procedures across the business units. • Work in conjunction with internal and external Audit teams to make sure FTA’s requirements are in full Compliance. • Promote trade compliance culture & training to related areas with customs, FTA’s & import/export. (Finance, HR, purchasing, Legal, operations, materials, supply chain, etc.). • Collaborate with global functional areas and local compliance monitoring teams to detail and analyze compliance-related trading controls and data requirements across the organization. • This position has the responsibility to review all FTA’s requirements and compliance, recommend appropriate controls and best business practices to mitigate any potential threat or risk that can put in an exposure to Nidec Motor Corporation legal entities. • This position has not directed reports under his/her command, however, is very important to work and align with all Foreign Trade operations and FTA’s related procedures, as well as of ensuring compliance with FTA’s trade laws and regulations. Education, Experience and Skills • Professional career: Degree in International Relations, International Business, or related field. • English level: 70% (Bilingual fluent). • IT: Windows, Office, ERP, proficient knowledge in data management tools (EXCEL or similar). • related reporting and KPI’s. • Job qualifications: Knowledge in Import / Export and customs matters, foreign trade rules, customs law and related procedures. • Annex 24, 8th Rule, IMMEX, PROSEC, HTS Codes, Free Trade Agreements and other programs. • Import process and USMCA claim process. • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in international trade and customs laws in a multi-national company, in large Certified Public Accountant or Law Firm, Mexico Customs, Customs Brokerage firm, etc. • Ability to communicate above, below and across the organization will be critical for future success and in cases of a problem being agile in responding to both management and internal customers, honesty, integrity, and discipline, summarizing “compliance”. • Analytical. • Problem solving. • Decision making. • Attention to detail. • Compliance. • Integrity. • Leadership capabilities.
