Job Description

Minimum Requirements Qualification : Commercial Law degree ( LLB ) admitted attorney preferred. Experience : Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a corporate commercial legal role. Contract Expertise : Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge of major construction contracts including NEC, FIDIC, GCC, EPC, and EPCM . Knowledge of South African tax legislation will be an advantage. Key Responsibilities Review, draft, and negotiate engineering and construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, GCC, JBCC, EPC/EPCM, and bespoke agreements). Advise on commercial, corporate, contract, and statutory law matters to ensure compliance. Pre-contract review of tender terms and conditions. Manage post-contract claims and disputes, including extensions of time, Force Majeure, and scope variation claims. Assist with company secretarial duties and maintenance of statutory records. Prepare and maintain documentation for tender submissions (Tax, CIPC, IDs, etc.). Provide guidance on tax implications of operations in South Africa and foreign jurisdictions. Collaborate with multi-functional teams across sales, engineering, manufacturing, and site operations. Skills & Attributes Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of personal integrity and professionalism. Attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to work under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams. Proficiency in MS Office 365 . Remuneration : Market-related, negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Start Date : Immediate. Location : Western Cape.
