CNC Machine Setter - Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and reliable individual to join our team as a CNC Setter . The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the daily operational requirements of CNC setting, while also supporting general machine shop activities during the shift. Key Responsibilities Adhere to all quality standards in accordance with customer specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures within the Machining Department. Set up wheels on machining cells according to customer specifications, process sheets, and machine setup standards within the required timeframe. Perform first-off dimensional checks (drilling and turning) to meet Metrology specifications and tolerances during wheel changeovers. Conduct basic pallet maintenance, including replacing worn radial and lateral locators, and pre-setting pallets for upcoming production runs. Monitor PCDMIS inspection results to identify issues, make necessary adjustments, and replace tooling/inserts based on their life cycle to avoid premature tool failures. Report equipment breakdowns by completing Maintenance Job Cards and submitting them to the Department Artisan. Clearly tag or label all wheels in the Machine Shop as Good, Rework, or Scrap, based on their condition. Record and enter daily scrap and downtime performance data for each machining cell into the Haldan OEE system. Qualifications Recognized Trade Qualification (e.g., Toolmaker, Turner Machinist, or equivalent) is essential. Experience and Skills Required Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in CNC machining (FANUC and SIEMENS controls). Robotic handling experience (Fanuc, KUKA) is advantageous. Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles. Strong ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings. Familiarity with the use of precision measuring instruments. Additional Requirements Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Good decision-making and organizational abilities. Physically capable of performing duties related to the position. Excellent attendance and disciplinary record.
