Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to lead our clients' newly established accounting branch. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting, strong leadership abilities, and proven multitasking skills. This role requires someone capable of managing and strengthening existing client relationships, while also developing new business opportunities. A confident, approachable, and trustworthy demeanor is essential to succeed in this position. Key Responsibilities: Accounting , Processing and reconciliations: Daily accounting operations, including processing transactions and maintaining accurate financial records. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and resolve any discrepancies. Maintain and reconcile fixed assets registers and inventory reports. Manage and reconcile intercompany loans. Financial Statements: Draft and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Structures and tax planning: Ability to consult and advise on best corporate structures and succession/estate planning for groups Tax planning and advisory on best practices, proactive planning for each milestone tax event. Tax Administration: Handle tax administration for clients, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Year-End and Month-End Close: Monitor timelines for month-end close activities and ensure timely completion. Oversee onboarding activities for new clients and staff. Working Papers: Review working papers for accuracy and completeness. Training and Development: Facilitate software and process training for external clients. Develop and update training materials to ensure client standards are met and maintained. Provide accounting and tax software training and support Full understanding of IT software used by the department Training and support to the clients of the software used by the department External Engagement: Engage with clients and team to align and meet delivery expectations. Client engagement presenting reports, structure planning, estate planning, compilations, integrated reports and general client meetings Networking within the industry to leverage opportunities Project Management: Lead and manage accounting projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Perform team leader duties, including performance management, recruiting, and team capacity planning. Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the division. Team Management: Manage the growing accounting team, setting performance targets and conducting performance reviews. Time management Foster a positive and productive team environment. Qualifications and requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting and team leadership roles. Proficiency in accounting and tax software. Excellent team leadership and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
