Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Horizon Metas is hiring for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our office in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Work across all product lines either leading or supporting more junior team members. This role within the Engineering Group shall have the primary responsibility of developing new product designs from first concepts through development, validation, and release, with the objective of creating innovative and competitive towing products that meet or exceed customer requirements. Management to carry out the following responsibilities: Develop innovative and cost-effective products to meet HGA business objectives. Engineer, design, validate and release new products or applications. Develop new products from design concept using CAE tools in excel and Solidworks environment. Gather all pertinent information for part design from inspection of the truck and trailer vehicles. Maintain engineering records pertaining to material masters, bills of material, product drawings and system requirements for all releases and changes in the product. Resolve design issues, manufactured or sourced product, evaluate components and assemblies as needed. Work independently develop APQP deliverable (Drawings, Risk Reg., DFMEA, Load Cases, DVP, IR, Stacks, etc.) Execute fabrication tasks may include welding, press operation, lathe, mill, and hand tool use. Lead field and warranty analysis for AM field returns. Perform Finite Element Analysis to evaluate design solutions. Some regional travel is expected, less than 10% Travel. Requirements: 10 years of product design concept-to-launch, scope definition, and mechanical simulation. 10 years of experience with FEA, GD&T, Stacks, DVP, DFMEA’s 10 years CAD 3d, 2d DWG and FEA experience in SolidWorks. Knowledgeable and current to the Automotive Industry, specifically: trends, new vehicle introductions.
