Junior Accounting Clerk - Pretoria East

Role Overview A small but growing accounting firm based in Pretoria East is seeking a Junior Accounting Clerk to join their team. This entry-level role provides essential support across day-to-day financial and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working under supervision. The role offers excellent exposure to practical accounting functions and client engagement in a professional office environment. Key Responsibilities Process client transactions, including billing, payments, and supplier invoices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records. Assist with reconciling client bank statements and financial accounts. Support the preparation of financial documents and basic client reports. Help manage accounts receivable and accounts payable. File and maintain client documentation, invoices, and correspondence. Assist with data gathering for payroll processing. Capture financial transactions using accounting software such as Pastel or Sage. Liaise with clients to request documentation and resolve basic queries. Perform general administrative tasks supporting the finance function. Requirements Matric / Grade 12 is essential. Basic accounting or bookkeeping coursework is advantageous. Prior experience in a finance or clerical role (internship or admin exposure welcomed). Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage) and MS Excel. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team. Professional communication and a client-friendly attitude.
