Financial Accountant

A well-established legal firm with over 60 years of history is seeking a hands-on, meticulous Financial Accountant to take charge of their business-side finance operations. Based full-time in-office in Cape Town , this permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, is comfortable wearing many hats, and thrives in a collaborative office culture. You'll oversee everything from creditor management and payroll to monthly reporting and financial allocations across multiple departments. What you'll be doing: Managing month-end processes, including reconciliations, VAT, and management accounts Handling payroll, leave, and employee queries; including payroll tax submissions Maintaining the asset register and performing depreciation and shareholder loan allocations Overseeing supplier payments, cash flow reporting, petty cash, and office consumables Supporting compliance submissions (EMP501, ROE, etc.) Collaborating closely with directors across cost centres for accurate financial reporting Learning and supporting trust finance operations when needed What we're looking for: SAIPA articles (preferred) or equivalent experience in a full-function finance role Proven accounting skills across GL, reconciliations, payroll, and reporting Solid working knowledge of month-end, tax submissions, and cost allocations Comfortable in a full-time (no remote/hybrid) Meticulous, structured, and eager to take full ownership of the role What's in it for you: Step into an established yet people-centric firm with a strong sense of team Get groomed into a dual finance role across trust and business Long tenure and generous bonuses for high performers Great office culture with strong collaboration and mutual support If you don't hear back from us within 2 weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
