Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Officer

Castle Lead Works manufactures a wide range of lead products which are distributed nationally and internationally. The company has a vacancy for a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Officer (SHE&Q) based in West Rand, Krugersdorp. The primary function of the SHE&Q Officer is to actively facilitate compliance with all safety, health, environmental and quality legislation while promoting a safe working environment for all persons who enter our site. Key responsibilities : Implement and monitor all HSE management systems; Facilitate internal and external audits, ensure that findings are closed within specified time lines and that certificates are up to date; Responsible for incident investigations, initial recommendations and putting measures in place to prevent reoccurrence; Facilitate risk assessments; Facilitate health & safety training, awareness programs, wellness days & safety inductions on a continous basis; Facilitate occupational health surveys per legilsation and ensure that recommendations are implemented; Facilitate environmental surveys per legislation and reporting results; Procurement of personal protective equipment, distribution and control; Monthly HSE reports; Ensure internal quality standards are maintained and monitored; Oversight of the onsite clinic and function; Support the Operations department on all HSE related matters. Grade 12 or equivalent; BTech Quality Management / Health & Safety or related qualification; Minimum 3 years' experience in an Industrial Plant or similar; Experience in working with a Quality Management System; Knowledge of ISO Standards and Certifications; Knowlege of Lead Regulations; Auditing experience. Excellent time managment and meeting deadlines.
