Job Description
Our client has an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, experienced Financial Officer to join their team in Bloemfontein. This key role is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day financial operations within an office environment. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 4 years’ relevant work experience with an accounting qualification (degree or diploma in accounting preferred) OR 10 years’ relevant work experience without an accounting qualification Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills Experience with financial software and systems is an advantage Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity Fluent in Afrikaans and English Valid driver's license and own vehicle Duties and responsibilities: Manage daily financial operations, including processing invoices, payments, receipts, and bank transactions Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded Prepare, analyse, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely collection and payment Maintain and update the general ledger and all supporting documentation for audits Administer payroll, employee expense reimbursements, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements Track company expenditures, manage petty cash, and monitor adherence to budgets Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and other regulatory filings, including preparation and submission of returns Liaise with external auditors and supply all necessary documentation for audit processes Implement and uphold robust internal controls and financial policies Support management with ad hoc financial analysis, costing exercises, and feasibility studies for water projects Collate and maintain accurate records for assets, capital expenditure, and contracts as required Provide financial and administrative support to project teams, including project costing and reconciliation Assist in the onboarding of suppliers and maintain up-to-date supplier account records Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and systems, leveraging tools such as Excel, Sage Evolution, and Pastel Payroll Skills required: Strong organisational and administrative skills High level of attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remuneration: R 20 000 cost to company IMPORTANT: Applications close 20 August 2025 Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted No social media messages / comments will be responded to
