Plant Operator

Responsible for the operations portion of plants. Monitors and operates Magnetic Separator process control equipment, including valving, packaging, and engineering. Interprets plant procedures. · Oversee Magnetic Separator plant operations. · Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment. · Load and unload trucks and railcars. · Perform general housekeeping. · Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules. · Conceptualize, design, and implement plant improvement projects. · Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action. · Conduct area inspections and audits. · Perform calibration check of scale accuracy at the beginning of each work shift. · Control and operate equipment such as loaders, drills, tractors, trucks, crushers, excavators, fork lifts, bulldozers and cranes. · Handle material and cargo. · Perform preventive and routine maintenance. · Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. · Replenish inventory as needed. · Reporting of deviations. Minimum Grade 12. · Minimum 2 years Magnetic Separator plant operating experience. · Ability to work a varied schedule under diverse conditions and according to sometimes stringent time schedules. · Good communication skills (written and oral). · Ability to work in a team. · Problem Solving Skills. · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. · Ability to remember previously learned material such as specifics, criteria, techniques, principles, and procedures. · Ability to grasp and interpret the meaning of material; ability to put parts together to form a new whole or proposed set of operations.
