Accountant - Goodwood Cape Town

Job Purpose: To ensure the provision of a high-quality financial accounting service that supports the effective management of financial resources, within the statutory and regulatory guidelines. The accountant reports to the Financial Manager and will be responsible for the full accounting duties such as the debtors, creditors, petty cash, banking accounts, statutory and monthly reporting. Qualifications and or Experience: • Matric with Accounting • Minimum qualification - Tertiary Qualification in Accounting • At least 3 years’ experience in commerce and industry • Computer Literate – proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel Skills. • Previous Financial software package experience essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes: • Good communication skills • Analytic skills (information processing) • Must possess strong numeric and analytical ability • Good interpersonal skills • Must be a self-motivator with positive pro-active attitude • Attention to detail and excellent reporting • Attention to detail • Deadline orientated • Planning • Monitoring • Organizational skills • Time Management • Ability to prioritize • Good written, verbal and presentation skills • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills • Ability to work under pressure • Competent in problem solving (problem analysis) • Teamwork • Manage controls • Record keeping • Excellent understanding of financial costing • Legislative knowledge • Process driven
