Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Drive the financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives and local market conditions. Serve as a key advisor to the MD and executive team on financial performance, risks, and opportunities. Support the development of expansion strategies, including investment, partnerships, and M&A activities. Financial Management & Reporting Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Ensure compliance with local (OHADA) accounting standards and IFRS. Manage timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and reporting. Present financial results and analysis to internal stakeholders and board members. Governance, Risk & Compliance Ensure full compliance with Senegalese tax regulations, central bank requirements, and all other local financial laws. Maintain and enhance internal control systems and risk management frameworks. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel. Treasury & Cash Flow Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and liquidity planning. Develop and maintain banking relationships and optimize capital structure. Monitor FX exposure and implement appropriate hedging or mitigation strategies. Team Management Build and lead a high-performing local finance team. Provide coaching, training, and performance management to finance staff. Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA) or equivalent. Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Minimum of 10 years senior financial leadership experience, preferably in a multinational or emerging market environment. Previous experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa, ideally Francophone West Africa. Experience in industries such as Food Processing or Manufacturing. Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). French language skills (professional proficiency). Experience reporting financials in accordance with US GAAP. Big 4 Audit Experience preferred.
