Job title Verification Engineering Manager Purpose of role The Verification Engineering Manager is responsible for managing and leading a high performing engineering team. Ensuring the team are meeting project deliverables to a high quality in order to meet the company’s strategic goals. Senior Engineering Managers must lead by example by implementing the Aion Silicon's culture and behaviours. Responsibilities Display customer intimacy by demonstrating clear and customer focused communication, issue resolution & delivery to beyond expectation and developing this approach with the team. Taking ownership and responsibility by motivating direct reports to manage their time and deliver on day-to-day tasks. Actively participate in social engagements and create a culture of recognition to reward success and enhance collaboration. Creating a high performing team by; Taking the lead to continuously improve the team performance by understanding Aion Silicon's behaviours, managing employee related issues and setting SMART objectives in line with project deliverables. Taking ownership of developing direct reports in their career progression by identifying on the job experience, training and development needs. Encouraging a culture of appropriate delegating and knowledge sharing. Hiring to headcount to address the current and future skills gaps and capability within the team. Communicating, following and ensuring your team understands and adheres to company policies, procedures and processes. Managing the employee lifecycle within your team, including but not restricted to onboarding/offboarding, absence/holiday management and monitoring departmental employee turnover and improving retention. Ensuring company messages are communicated and understood by the team and appropriate feedback is given to the company by holding regular team meetings, 1:1’s, objective reviews and annual appraisals. Coordinating and communicating with cross functional teams to assist the Senior Engineering Manager to define and create Verification strategies/plans. Responsible for overseeing and coaching Verification Managers in developing their direct reports. Working with broader engineering teams and engineering management to constantly improve methodologies and adopt best industry working practices. Keeping up to date with relevant engineering advances in the field and ensure that Aion is kept at the forefront of the state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies and design processes as used in the industry. Overseeing Engineering Managers and their teams to ensure the development and maintenance of the verification environment, verification plan, regression management, methodology/flow deployment. Coordinating representation of Aion at universities, conferences and trade shows, and presenting technical papers. Qualifications Essential A Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering or a relevant subject. Project management experience/ qualification. Skills & experience Essential Management Skills Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills and the ability to manage people successfully Experience in influencing technical direction of others. Proven capability of empowering, delegating and developing teams of people to deliver on projects. Proven capability of coaching and mentoring others to improve performance. Able to evaluate issues, constructively challenge and develop a team to resolve complex problems Strong customer engagement skills. Technical skills Experience of presenting “technical white papers." Hands-on expertise in IP and/or SoC level functional verification. Metric driven verification, verification planning, functional coverage, code coverage, testbench architecture. Able to contribute to the development of technical sales documents such as a Statement of Work Technical skills SystemVerilog, UVM, ABV, constrained random verification VHDL, PSL, SVA, e Formal verification Power aware verification – UPF, RTL and gate-level simulation HW/SW co-verification, multi-mode simulation HW acceleration – emulation, FPGA. Verification infrastructure automation – Perl, Python, IP-XACT Possesses a broad cross disciplinary knowledge but with the ability to apply advanced knowledge of a single sub-function OR knowledge of multiple sub-functions Attributes Essential Able to build trust through open and transparent communication.
